Death from Suicide: A Look at 18 States

The Safe States Alliance has released a new report, Deaths from Suicide: A Look at 18 States, which is based on 2013 and 2014 data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS). The report provides an overview of deaths from violence in the U.S., a detailed look at suicide nationally and among states, and an exploration of similarities and differences in violent deaths among 18 states. It is the third in a series of NVDRS data publications. The first report, published in 2008, focused on violence using 2004 and 2005 data collected from 17 NVDRS states. The second report, published in 2014, covered 2009 and 2010 data from 18 NVDRS states with a special emphasis on intimate partner violence.
